Sang-Hun Lee
Dr. Sang-Hun Lee majored in Korean Medicine and joined the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine in 2009. After serving as the head of the Acupuncture and Meridian Research Group and the head of the Department of Future Medicine, he is currently a principle researcher in the KM Data Division and is leading the project “Clinical Big Data Collection and Service Platform Construction for the Development of AI Korean Medicine Doctors” and is the professor of the ‘Korean Medicine Convergence Science’ at the University of Science and Technology. His main research field is the standardization of medical devices used in clinical practice of Oriental medicine and the standardization of Oriental medicine medical information. He serves as an expert member of the Oriental Medicine Medical Devices Division of the International Organization for Standardization's Traditional Medicine Committee (ISO/TC249). He served as Project Leader for the development of ISO international standards for electroacupuncture, electroacupuncture, and cupping at the committee and published five international standards. In 2015, he developed a closed-type disposable sterilized cupping cap and became the first oriental medical device to acquire 'New Health Technology (NET)'. In recognition of his achievements, he was elected as a next-generation member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, the first in the oriental medical field, in 2022, and developed ultrasound for oriental medicine in 2022. For his contribution, he received the academic award from the Korean Academy of Oriental Medicine. |
Hyangsook Lee
Dr. Hyangsook Lee is a professor in the Department of Anatomy at the College of Korean Medicine, Kyung Hee University, Seoul, Korea, and the director of the Korean Medicine Convergence Research Information Centre. She is a Korean Medicine Doctor, and her extensive research experience includes clinical trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses of various Korean Medicine treatment modalities, including acupuncture, as well as studies on blinding and placebo controls in acupuncture. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, and her research interests include the specific and non-specific effects of acupuncture, integrative medicine, and practice-based research. |
Hongmin Chu
Dr. Hongmin Chu is an adjunct professor at the College of Korean Medicine, Wonkwang University, Iksan, Korea. He earned his MS and PhD in Korean Medicine from Wonkwang University, Iksan, Korea. His main research interests are focused on neurology, motion analysis, ultrasound-guided acupuncture, and acupotomy. |
Su Yeon Seo
Dr. Su Yeon Seo is currently working as a senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine in Daejeon and as a professor in the Department of Oriental Medicine Convergence Science at the University of Science and Technology. She majored in neuroscience (Master, PhD) at Pusan National University. Her primary research interests lie in identifying the brain signaling pathways underlying the effects of acupuncture. |
